What is a kitchen display system?

A KDS is a screen in the kitchen that replaces printed KOT tickets. Orders appear the moment they're punched, organized by station — grill, dessert, bar — with elapsed time visible on every card, so nothing sits forgotten under a stack of paper. Instead of a runner carrying a paper slip from the pass to the station, the order is already there the instant it's placed — at the counter, the table, or through WhatsApp.
